Pageturner competition

This is the poster that i put into the Pageturner competition. I unfortunately didn't win or come somewhere in the final but it did get displayed in the Learning Studio at the Turner Contemporary, which i was pleased about.

 
I have decided to go to UCA in Maidstone to study illustration as its the part of the course i seem to have done best in and enjoyed the most.

At first i decided i wanted to stay at Canterbury college to do higher education in graphic design.

but decided to study in Maidstone as the idea of going somewere further away and studying something oim more into would be the better thing.

This is my website. I have hand written all my text on there and took a crop from my Laura Thomas poster to put at the top of tghe page and my apples i painted in watercolour for my homepage.

FMP- Finals

 I have done these 4 paintings for my finals. After doing the busiest one, i realised that although it looks nice, its not the affect i wanted from my paintings. So i painted the rest just simple with a blue background. The first painting i have done is with watercolour, i think it could be improved a lot more as it looks slightly rushed. The second painting is with watercolour as well. I think i should have used masking fluid to outline th fish and paint it like that so it would make it easier and neater to paint. The third painting is done with mostly water colour, but also a bit of white gouache and coloured pencils, I really like this painting but just don't think it is as affective as i wanted it, The final is done with a watercolour background and the fish is painted with acrylic, this one is one of my favourites because of how bold the fish is and how washy the background is.

I scanned in my final paintings and decide to do something with these two fish, i opened them in Photoshop and duplicated them a few times i also flipped them and came up with this design. I have used this design in the Show and think it works really well, i think it could also work really well in a hospital.

FMP- My Aims and Results

At the start of the project i wanted to get 5 paintings done and give myself 3-4 weeks to do them, i also wanted to do loads of experimentation and a questionnaire to give myself more of an idea into what would work in the best way for the hospital.

I only just about got 4 paintings done in the last 2 weeks with a struggle and they are not perfect paintings. I also done very little experimenting and didn't manage to get a questionnaire to hand around the hospital to staff and patients.
